Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cube butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter or sun butter, or cashew butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Sun Flour Mills Whole Grain All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup rolled gluten free oats
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

For frosting

  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp milk or vanilla rice milk
  • Optional: nuts

Instructions
 

  • Cream together butter, sugar, and brown sugar
  • Add egg, peanut butter choice, and vanilla extract
  • Sift together and then add Sun Flour Mills Whole Grain Flour, oats, baking soda, and salt
  • Spread mixture into 9x13 pan
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
  • Immediately upon removing from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips
  • Cover with aluminum foil for 10 minutes until chocolate chips are melted
  • Smooth with spatula
  • Mix ingredients for frosting on low speed with hand mixer until smooth
  • Spread frosting over chocolate
  • If desired top with nuts

Notes

Can omit chocolate chips and frosting
