Flaky Pie Crust

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Sun Flour Mills Pastry Flour
  • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup dairy free margarine or butter
  • 1 tsp corn syrup agave nectar, or honey
  • 7-9 tsp ice cold water

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl whisk together SFM Pastry Flour, xanthan gum, and salt
  • Cut in dairy free butter.
  • Dough will resemble coarse crumbs
  • Stir in corn syrup agave nectar or honey and the ice cold water 1 tsp at a time until the dough forms a ball
  • Spray 2 large sheets of aluminum foil with non-stick spray
  • Roll the dough between the 2 sheets of foil to 1/3 inch thickness
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hr
  • Peel off the top sheet of foil and invert rolled dough into an 8-9 inch pie plate.
  • Peel off the other sheet of foil
  • Prick with a fork in several areas
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 16-18 minutes, or until golden brown

Notes

Yields 1 large pie crust
