Can I use a bread machine?
Yes but your bread will turn out more dense.
Do I have to use “egg replacer” to make the products vegan?

No. All of the products just have water to replace with the exception of the Sugar Cookie mix. For specific information on how to replace eggs in our mixes, please CLICK HERE

I live at a high altitude. Do I have to adjust my baking/temp?
Usually you will not have to adjust the recipe. If you make our product and notice it is still not cooked all of the way, you may have to adjust your time and/or temp setting. Every oven is also different. General rules for baking at high altitude is to lower the temperature 25 degrees and increase baking time 5 – 10 minutes.
Can I use coconut oil instead of shortening in the sugar cookies?
You need to use shortening or the cookies will not turn out. We know that one customer tried it and well, it did not turn out. There is a vegan shortening that you can try to substitute if you are vegan.
Are your products certified Gluten-Free?

All of our products are certified gluten free! We test each batch blended to make sure it is free of gluten.

Our Chocolate Cake didn't mix as it usually does. Did I do something wrong?

No, you didn’t do anything wrong. We had a small batch of mix that was blended wrong so it mixed differently and baked differently. It was extremely thick. It is safe to eat and tastes the same. Just isn’t as pretty as usuall. 

Our bread didn't double before baking. Why?

Yeast can be finicky sometimes. What can affect the yeast: water too hot, water not warm enough, age of yeast, where the yeast is stored. If it doesn’t double, it will most likely rise in the oven.

Why can't I find your products in a store near me?

Sun Flour Mills is a growing company and we would love to be in a store near you! In order to get into stores, we need customers to request us. If the store has enough requests- at the local and corporate level- we will usually get placed in a store. Unfortunately, we don’t get to choose where we are. Customers and store buyers do. Please ask your local store to contact us.

Are your products made in a nut free facility?

All of Sun Flour Mills’ products are made in a facility that is free of peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten. 

Are your products available in Canada?

Our products are only available in the United States at this time. We also only offer shipping from our online store to U.S. addresses.
